Dahlia and dahlias

This was the first of what will hopefully be an annual event for our family...a photo shoot in the dahlia garden in Volunteer Park. Too bad the camera battery ran out and we only got these three pictures.

There were hundreds of different dahlia plants of every possible color, size, and variety you could think of. We may make another attempt later this week with a full camera battery so we can get more pictures. Dolly seemed pretty excited about grabbing at the flowers and was having a hard time being "gentle." I think the orange ones complemented her hair perfectly.
