Happy Thanksgiving

We have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! Whitney is recovering well from her dramatic/traumatic labor & birth experience, but Dahlia makes up for it on a daily basis. Whitney is more mobile and in less pain, and gradually able to do more every day. Nathan is thankful for his job, as he feels much more at ease about parenting knowing that he can provide for his family. And who can't be thankful for an adorable little baby for Thanksgiving?

Here are some fun facts about baby Dahlia:

1. She loves to eat her hands. Especially if they have those built-in mittens attached to her onesie.

2. She doesn't like to be naked and cold, and so only really cries when we're changing her diaper.

3. She can sleep for 20+ hours a day, waking up only to eat and cry about her diaper.

4. She's cute!

5. She may have formed an initial attachment/friendship with a particular polka-dotted fleecy blanket. It has successfully calmed her on three occasions today, so we'll be keeping that one around.

6. She has Nathan's toes, for what that's worth. Very long.

7. She's more interested in peeing near a diaper, rather than in one. She pees freely. Must have read the book.

8. She likes to eat, which is another thing to be thankful for. (Nursing is going very well.)

9. She doesn't mind other people, as long as they're comfy and keep her warm. Maybe you'll be slept on next!

10. Her hair is still red.

We're thankful for our families and friends for their support in the first week with our new baby. We'd be sleepless and overwhelmed without them. Thank you for the love and support.

Napping again

First experience in the car seat... it went much better once it started moving.
