The world as Dahlia says it...

It is hard for me to believe, but our girl has started talking non-stop! The language explosion is wonderfully helpful since we finally know what she wants and how she wants it (sometimes very specifically), but mostly it is extremely entertaining. Here are some of our favorites:

1. The adorable toddler accent:
oh-do-wah = armadillo
fug = frog
di-dor = dinosaur
di-dor hobo = dinosaur hairbow (a frequent request, seriously)
pingies = penguins
buddy = bunny
baddy = bandaid (she is still talking about one that was on her knee 2 weeks ago)
poppy = potty
say-o-bup = sailboat
puddo = puzzle
guck = duck
bankey = blanket
bopper = diaper

and our absolute favorite...

ho-po-baby = hippopotamus (we are in stitches every time with this one)

2. Misunderstandings:
While working on a puzzle earlier in the week, Dahlia was having trouble getting a piece to fit into the slot just right. I told her to wiggle it until it fit in. She then starts shimmying her whole little body saying "wugg-o, wugg-o, wugg-o" with the puzzle piece held high in the air before trying it again in the same way as before.

Oh my goodness! The wiggle story is a keeper for sure! I'm excited to go to the zoo with her and hear her interpretations on all of the animals!

Good thing you are keeping this journal of her life. She will love to be able to see and hear all about herself someday! Good job Whitney and keep them coming Dahlia! Love, Nana
