Good times...

Things are well in our house these days. The weather is lovely, we have been spending lots of time outside, and Dahlia has been enjoying looking up at all of the trees in the neighborhood. We decided to get out of town today and go for a short hike along the Snoqualmie River. It was great to get some fresh air and get Dahlia initiated into an outdoor-loving lifestyle. She has been enjoying the outdoor views so much lately that we thought she might like the backpack instead of the Ergo carrier for the hike...we were wrong. She fussed and squirmed pretty much the whole time she was in the backpack, so we gave up and I carried her in the Ergo on the way back to the car. I guess she still likes to be close to us while we are out and about (I like it too).

Nathan teaches Dahlia a very valuable life skill - how to throw rocks into a river.

Stopping to enjoy a mid-hike snack.

A nice view of the Snoqualmie River.

This is very near the spot where my week 22 belly picture was taken last July.

She was happy to test-drive the backpack in the living room before we left, but didn't like it so much once we were actually on the trail.

And here are some other recent pictures from the home life:

Dahlia is happily sporting a fuzzy suit from Great-Grandma Orel, sitting on her new quilt from Nana.

Dahlia likes to help with the diaper laundry, it is so warm and snuggly.

Not quite ready for the high chair. Good thing she had Sophie the giraffe there for support.

This was the first time Dahlia was put under the dangly toys of the "happy mat." As you can see, she was mesmerized. Once the initial shock of how awesome it was wore off, she started batting at the toys and seems to really enjoy herself when we play with it together.
